It took forty years for the identity of the man who was dubbed the Family Court Killer to emerge, thanks to the determination of a female Chief Inspector to see the case through. At its heart, this was a crime born of bitter misogyny and the much-expressed belief that the Family Court favours the female, leaving family men floundering in the wake of its decisions. It was the inevitable outcome of domestic violence being called to account, and the battle of conservative men's groups against a Family Court they deemed too progressive. All this culminated in an act of homeland terrorism, which continues to reverberate to this day.
