On the way home from his grandmother's funeral, Ryan Flynn falls into the river and drowns. Or does he? Although it looks like home, there are key differences; Ryan, who hasn't spoken since the shocking death of his father several years before, has suddenly found his voice and his Grandfather, who has been suffering from dementia is suddenly lucid. Is there a place you go to between life and death and is this the last stage from which you can return to life before death takes you irrevocably and completely? Because if there is, that's where Ryan finds himself and where he's led towards self-discovery with the help of some friends.
