Your possessions in storage only remain so for as long as you continue to pay the rent, but in California, a three-month arrears is enough to see you lose ownership of everything you have stored away, because your landlord can seize them and auction them off in lieu of rent. That's where the professional buyers come in. Because a cursory five minute inspection is enough for them to spot the potential. The trick is to buy small and to sell large. And some people are better at it than others.
