In a dystopian, not-too-distant future, London is controlled by a totalitarian force, the Norsefire, who came to power after a period of war, disease and terror. A mysterious, masked vigilante known only as V rescues a young woman, Evey, and then announces to the city that he will blow up the Houses Of Parliament on November 5. V hopes to inspire his fellow citizens to rise up against the police state and stage a revolution, but the forces of oppression are determined to stop him.
