When Australian farmer and water diviner, Joshua Connor's three sons fail to emerge from the carnage of Gallipoli, he goes Turkey to find their bodies. Staying in a hotel in Istanbul he becomes close to the manager Ayshe, who helps him defy the British edict to stay away from the battlefield. However, while he finds answers, he also finds questions and his journey continues, taking him further into Turkey and further into history, until he discovers a certain well.
