Oberst Steiner is a German parachute unit commander, but not actually a Nazi, a fact that works dangerously against him within the SS. He's deployed to England with his small group of men to abduct Winston Churchill and take him back to Germany; if he manages to pull off this coup it will fatally demoralise the English. The first stage is to get to England without arousing suspicion. To this end, they present themselves as a group of Polish soldiers training to return to wrest their homeland from Nazi control.
