Rob Bell goes inside Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia - a floating palace at sea for 44 years that travelled over a million miles or the equivalent of one complete circumnavigation of the globe for every year she was in service. Rob takes us on a journey through this extraordinary vessel and by meeting Britannia's crew and passengers, he reveals what life was like both for the Royal owners and for the crew on board with personal stories of Royal protocol and when this protocol was broken. Rob also looks at the many positive roles Britannia played, whether in promoting Britain's economic and diplomatic interests abroad, and when she heroically went to the aid of over a thousand desperate people trapped in Aden during 1986's violent civil war. He uncovers classified documents, never made public before now that prove the Royal Yacht was being held in reserve for a top secret role.
