It is 1854 in Australia and gold has been discovered! Claim jumpers and thieves abound and even the government is getting in on the act. The Eureka Stockade is a reaction to the government bureaucrats, who are threatening to seize the miners’ claims. Peter Lallor, an outgoing, energetic prospector, steers his fellow miners away from their initial reaction of violence and helps to organize the group into a strong, united front willing to mediate their problems. An abridged version of the film was released in the USA under the title “Massacre Hillâ€.
