MOVIE: Dick Tracy (1937)
A classic from the 1930s. Based on a comic strip of the same name, Dick Tracy was a square-jawed, Homberg-wearing, gun-toting detective - or in the local parlance, dick, who worked tirelessly with his team to put the bad guys behind bars. Bereft of superhero powers, but with an armoury of gadgets that would put 007 to shame, the wrist-watch phone for a start, all Tracy needed to do his job was his grit and determination. And now a certain crook calling himself The Spider, is about to discover that not even his skills in hypnosis will be enough to keep him out of Tracy's web.
