Having a doppelganger is a useful thing, especially if you're a cigar-chomping, skirt-chasing, philandering cad of a president of the good ol' US of A. Sweet simple, kind and good, Dave Kovic, happens to be a dead ringer for President Mitchell, who in order to avoid one official function too many and catch up with a rather fetching aide for a little one-on-one time, organises for Dave to impersonate him at a luncheon. Should have been a doddle, except for one thing; the aide is a little too good and the prez ends up in a coma. Dave must stay in character for the foreseeable future, with interesting results for him, the nation and the beautiful but unhappy First Lady.
