A well researched historical mini-series about the fictitious Aminata Diallo, who at the age of 11, is abducted by slave traders and sent to a plantation in South Carolina. This is the story of her escape and her involvement in writing The Book of Negroes, an actual document detailing the names of 3,000 black loyalists who had escaped to British lines during the American Revolution and who were sent to Nova Scotia.
